TAURANGA ELECTION. WITHDRAWAL OF Mr L. M. GRACE. Mr KELLY A CANDIDATE. ROTORUA, Monday.

A largely attended meeting was hekl here on Saturday ni^hfc, the occasion being Mr Grace's address to the electors. In complimentary terms he thanked them for their piibfc support, and the support they were likely to accord to him this Forthcoming contest, but he felt that owing; to the pressure of business, and the attention required to his private affairs, ho would be unable to do them justice by again becoming their member. He would therefore respectfully retire from the contest, at the same time, urging upon them the adusabiiity of transferring their support to his late opponent, Mr William Kelly, an announcement which was met with cheois. Mr Kelly wan present, and thanked Mr Grace for his remarks and the meeting for the kindly feeling- evinced towards him, and said hewo'uld now have much ploasure in going to the 'poll, and if the support already promised , him be given, he thought there could be no doubt of the
