GLADSTONE AND BRIGHT. London, August 7th.
In the course of his speech at the banquet to Lord Huntingdon at Greenwich, MiBright made a strong onslaught on Mr Gladstone, who, he said, was pursuing a retrograde and revolutionary policy. He alleged that the Liberal leader had sacrificed his political consistency, as well as marred the unity of the great Liberal party. He reviewed the circumstances of his own secession from the leadership of Mr Gladstone, to whom he had formerly rendered a faithful and unswerviug allegiance. In justification of his action he asserted that the welfare of the nation demanded the consolidation of the Empire and that its unity should be maintained uiiimparcd. Mr Gladstone had wrecked the work of his lifetime by the folly of a day. Nob content with fomenting Irish hatred of English rule, Mr Gladstone had exerted his great abilities in trying to disturb the loyal attachment of the Welsh people. In his sudden zeal for the Irish revolt against law and order, and his opposition to the attempts of Parliament to place tho administration of justice in the hands of free and uncorrupted tribunals. Mr Gladstone had defamed English juiies. In his new-born fanaticism, he had lent the great weight of his influence to the obstruction of the orderly proceedings of Parliament. ,
