Christchurch, August 10. Mr J. B. Smith leaves for Auckland by the Wanaka n«sxt Monday, followed by a representative who is leaving; on Thursday to inspect the auriferous deposits on his property on behalf of a number of poople who will take shares. Pending a favourable reply, Sir James Hector's, Professors Hutton, and Bicker ton's and the Government reports are printed in pamphlet style,and are creating considerable interest throughout Christchurch. The prospectus and plan will be issued, forming the northern part of Mr Smith's property into a company within a fortnight.

London, August 8. The Tasmanian Crock Tin Mining Company has been registered, with a capital of £210,000.
