Parroa, Friday. Onk of the first steps towards the inanguiatiou of a new ami bettor order of thing's here has been taken by Mr I). Snodyrasf, for whom a new building, comprising a store and commodious dwelling house, is now being erected on a freehold section adjacent to" the leasehold ono upon which his present establishment is located ; the work is being carried ont by Mr A. Moore, whose namo is a sufficient guarantee that it will be completed according to specifications. The new structure is 40 feet in di-pth by 2f> feet in width, and the studs are ]2 foot high in the clear. It is divided into six compartments, of which five will be fitted up for the use of

After partaking of the good tilings provided for the occasion, tho meeting broke up by singing the Doxology. No business will be transacted at the ordinary monthly meeting of the Ohinemui'i County Council on Saturday, the Oth of August proximo, but it will be adjourned till the the following Tuesday, h.r which date a special meeting has been convened to consider matters of vital importance to tho County. A concert, to conclude with a farce and ball, will come off in tho Public Hall here next Friday evening, and as tho proceeds are to be devoted to the Ohinemuri Public Library Building Fund, it is to be hoped that the. attendance will be a goo I one.
