TE AROHA.
Somi: little excitement was occasioned a lew divs fence by the report that a valuable find had been made close to the township. The facts are really as Ct»llf.us :-- Comes ami party have taken up some ground near the old Morning Star (him, ami are netting prospects of loose gold and small pieces of quart? containing gold from the surface. They have not .yet discovered the loader from which the gold has been shed, but are' in hope* soon to pick it up. The party are cleaning out an old drive, and intend' driving a cross cut to prospect the country, they are also sinking a shaft at the place where the best prospects are obtained, but as there is a considerable quantity of loose suifnce, it will take sometime to get down to the solid formation. Several other parlies have commenced prospecting- near Conies, and we trust that payable ground may be discovered, the locality i<? within half a mile from the Hot Hprmgs Domain, and no difficulty will be experience 1 in getting quartz down on to the main road toWaiorongomai.
