A meeting of the Conservative party, under the presidency of Lord Salisbury, was held at the Carl ton Club to-daj r , for the purpose of discussing the objections raised by the Liberal unionists to several clauses of the liibh Land Bill now before Parliament. Lord Salisbury announced that in order to meet the views and retain the support of the Liberal Unionists the Government had consented to amend the bill by admitting the revision of judicial lents pending the intioduc tion of the Land Purchase Bill. They had only decided to drop the bankruptcy clauses embodied in the measure. The majority of the meeting concuncd in tho proposals of the Government, there being only a few dissentients.
