A DEFIANT SPEECH. [SPECIAL MESSAGE.] London, July 12.

McGlynn's speech at New York on "Papacy and tho Catholic Church," created an immense sensation, and excited intense indignation among his co-religionists, and astonishment in others. He declared that the papacy is a more money-making machine, and said he was prepared with proofs in support of his assertions. He eulogised the Catholic religion, in which he was still a firm believer, but expressed himself utterly unconcerned about the Pope's action in excommunicating him.
