ELECTION NOTES.
Mr Thomas Peacock has decided to stand for that portion of Newton which embracesthe present Ponsonby district.
Eden. The name of one of the gentlemen suggested for this seat was yesterday misprinted A. Cromell instead of J. Aitken Connell. It is understood that if Mr Reader Wood were brought out to oppose Hon. J. A. Tole, Mr Adam Porter would retire in his favour.
Marstlen. The latest rumour respecting Marsden is that efforts are being made to bring out Mr Reader Wood, who would have the support of the Opposition party.
Parnell. The opposition for this seat is strong. Mr Seymour George, who was defeated byMr Moss afc the last election, has determined to oppose that gentleman again. Mr Withy's friends are also anxious that he should come out.
Bay of Islands. Mv John Lundon has made up his mind definitely to oppose Mr Hobbs for this seat.
