THE CALIFORNIAN SALMON PARK.
The salmon park on the Pacific Coast for' lBB7 isestimated at 1,000,000 cases; 500,000 caro of which aro already sold, " if packed," of which William T. Coteman and Co., San Francisco, have sold from 65 to 70 per cent. Advices from Alaska had not been received up to May 1 sb. Columbia River reports a backward season of from three to lour weeks ; the smelt have not run as yet, and no salmon have been caught. Sacramento River promises to be less a factor in the trade than ever. Illegal fishing at all seasons, debris, and seives are destroying a business which used to provide from 100,000 to 150,000 .per year, and and bring from 600,000 and 700,000 annually to tho State. Supplies in all markets are
light, and will be very light; before the new pack is available. Ibices, however, do nob show much change. <
