LATEST FROM AUCKLAND. Auckland, Last Night. The Rev. Walpole, onn of the party who partook of the fatal pie at Archdeacon Clarks, has had a relapse, and is again confined to his bed. Sir George Grey presided at a meeting to-night to arrange for the presentation of an address to the Karl and Countess of Aberdeen. The Industrial Association waited on Sir G. Grey and secured his promise of assistance in obtaining tariff charges favourable to local industries. Information has been given to the police that a girl aged aix years was criminally assaulted yesterday while returning from school. Iler assailant is unknown. f ihe police are investigating the case. The Supreme Court was occupied all day with the case of Firth v Par.apa Te Rea and other natives affecting 2554 acres of Matamata South. The case is still unfinished.
