Explorations in New Guinea.
Mr H. 0. Forbes, the New Guinea cxploiei, is now in Brisbane, on hit. way for Sydney, ( n route for Melbourne, to make arrangements for fuither explorations. Some uncertainty appears to exist as to whether the bum of £1,000, granted by the Victorian (!o\ eminent for ISew Guinea exploration, it to be devoted to the expedition which it was undei&tood, was to bo led by the Rev. J. Chalmers ; and Mr Forbes trip to Melbourne is undertaken piincipally with the object of arriving at an understanding in the matter.
