MINING NEWS. WAIORONGOMAI.

There is nothing of importance to record from any of the mines in this district. Notwithstanding the recent rainfall the water supply has again so fallen off that there is now only sufficient motive power to drive 15 head of stampers, which are engaged in reducing New Find ore. Mr Cheal on yesterday completed the survey of the large area of land recently taken up by tho Battery Company for mining purposes.

Murray, principal owner of the mine hua informed us the figures given were wrong, and states the correct return as being 3oz lGdwts from 251b of picked stone. We regret any error should have occurred, and cannot understand how such a mistake could have been made in the figures furnished us.
