THE MINES.
Work in both the Colonist and New Find mines is now entirely confined to contractors. New Find. — Sampson rind party are now sloping from the block in the Arizona level. Hawkins and party, and Guy and party, are also employed in breaking general dirt ; the reef is being broken out wholesale. Colonist. — S. Sampson and party are breaking out crushing dirt, on the surface towards the Canadian. May Queen. — Wages men are employed in this mine driving the low level, which is now supposed to be within about 2!sffc of the run of gold Success. — Work is steadily progressing in this mine.
