The Charge Against Dr. Connolly.
Wanoanui, Feb. 14. In connection with Dr. Connolly's case, Mr Pops, the informant, is not by any means eatiefied with the dismissal of the case, and has gone to Wellington to consult Mr Jallicoe about taking up a new case. He urges that as none of the local lawyers would take up the case he was placed at a disadvantage Local opinion varies •as to the dismissal. The " Chronicle", expresses the opinion that the justices acted propJMly in dismissing the charge. The " HeraJ^,'* dealing with complaints as to the fulness of the reports in the newspapers, as a justification urges that the press , representatives were the only members of the publio admitted to the hearing,and that the accused, being a professional man, the public had^ a right to know what was going on, and that further the prejs, had to consider the p#s.sible effect, on the public mind had tne xjase been, dismissed at the earae time .that , no fapjlities were piven to the public to kppV what was going .on.
