PROPOSED INTERVENTION OF ENGLAND. Melbourne, Feb. 15

Mr Trotter, the 1 Acting British Consul at Tonga, who is now on a visit to Australia, had an interview yesterday with the Premier. He declared that the Britieb residents of Tonga regard the situation with much anxiety, and urged that the Imperial Government should interfero with a view to the settlement of tho affair.
