Admin*! Ainmen, U.S. IS., has written a letter to the Pree?, severely criticieing; De 1 oaeeps's Panama Canal and Captain Eads's proposed ship railroad. He charges that De Lesseps has paid an American syndicate 500,000 francs yearly to defeat the Mictira tfua railroad, and that Eada'a influence ba* iilso been hostile. Meantime the rpparte from Panama, January 3rd, cay canal work is progressing. The couti actors are satisfied,, although they are working against difficulties, in consequence of ihe tad end of the ruiny season, mid tho celebration e£ the December holidays. The sanitary record is good.
