COLLISION AT SEA A Russian Steamer Sunk by a British One.

London, January 8. A telegram from Constantinople reports that a terrible collision took place on Sunday off Heraclea, in the Sea of Marmora, between the British steamer Danish Prince, 1,200 tons of Newcastle and the Russian steamer Batoum. The vessels came together with such force that the Batoum sank immediately. Thanks, however, to the efforts of the British crew, only six of the Kuasian seamen were drowned, the remainder, to the number of. twenty-four, being taken aboard tha Danish Prince. The bo we of the latter were badly damaged, and' the vessel was kept afloat only by the continuous use of the pumpa.
