COROMANDEL-THAMES DISTRICT UNITED CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held last Monday evening, there being present — Messers Renshaw (Chairman) McGowun, Coutts, McAndrew, Wood, Greenville, and Walsh. Expenses. — The Chairman of the Ohinemuri County Council applied for a refund of £14, being expenses incurred by Mr Walsh as the Council's delegate on the Board. — Agreed to. Piako Contribution. — A communication was received from Government stating that they could not pay the balance of the Piako Council's contribution, as no subsidies were now due. — Mr Brodie said a subsidy was payable to Piako io December last, and they had either paid away the money knowing that the Board had a claim against them, or else they still had »t. — The Secretary was instructed to inform Government of these circumstances accordingly. — (lSxtract from Thames Star report.)
