SYDNEY, Oct. 5.
The man now in custody has admitted that he is Caffrey. The vessel was allowed to go ashore in order to get rid of it, in the belief that all trace of it would thus be destroyed. The name had been painted over to prevent identification soon after leaving Auckland. Caffrey will be formally charged with the murder and remanded until the arrival of a police officer from Auckland. The police have not yet goo on the track of Perm, but they now possess clues which they believe will enable them to run him down.
