AWFULLY SUDDEN DEATH AT TE AROHA.

An nwfully sudden death occurred at 11.30 a.m. to-day. The deceased, a Mrs Rawlinga from Auckland, fell down dead clohe to her cottage, which is opposite the Police Station. Deceased had but a few minutes before been in apparently good health, and just returned from one of the stores. She was first observed by Messrs J. A. Dobson and Thos. Lawless, who raised ker up and sent for Mr Robson (chemist), who quickly responded to the summons, and tried to apply restoratives, but it was pretty evident the vital spark had fled, deceased only once showing the least sign of life after she was found, and Dr Erson, of Onehunga, who arrived from one of the hotels a fow minutes later on pronounced life extinct, and gave it as his opinion that the immediate cause was heart disease. Deceased was conr veyed to a vacant cottage close by, and a telegram at once despatched to a Mrs Saxon of Hamilton, sister of deceased, who arrived by train the same afternoon* Deceased was about 46 years of age, and was married for the third time some twelve years since to Mr Rawlings. She had tola friends she had heart disease, and tliat she expected she would die suddenly. Mr Rawh'ngs was formerly captain of a coasting vessel, Auckland, and had some time since to give up active life owing to rheumatism, and came with his wifo to Te Aroha to avail of the baths some seven or eight months since. During the winter season he has been unable to leave his bed, and the poor fellow is quite helpless from rheumatism. He bas, we believe, still some interest in boats, which bring him a few shillings weekly, he is also member of an Odd Fellows lodge, from which he has been receiving assistance. He expects same friends from Auckland, to come and arrange for his removal, purposing, we understand to return as soon as the fine weather sets in, to again avail of the baths. The funeral will leave Te Aroha, on Sunday next at 3 p.m., for the local cemetary.
