PERFORMANCE OF TENNYSON'S "BECKETT."
Tennyson's "Beckett " was played pastorally on July 20fch in the Sylvan Valley woods, near Wimbledon. The curtain was fastened with rings around two poles. They fell to the ground at the sound' of a bell and revealed a fern-strewn expanse shut in on each side by ttees, through which wooded defiles were reserved from the entry exit of the various characters. Lady Archibald Campbell waa Fair Rosamond, Macklin the Cardinal, and Fair Eleanor waB given to Genevieve Ward, her only appearance this season in England. The Prince and Princess of Wales were among the audience.
