OPENING OFTHE ANGLICAN CHURCH, TE AROHA.
On Sunday last the new Anglican Church was opened for public worship by Bishop Cowie, of Auckland, who preached at both the morning and evening services, being assisted by the Rev. Mr Marshall. In previous issues we havo given the dimensions and general features of the bnilding^ and now only add that it is exceedingly neat and comfortable inside. The altar cloth, which is really handsome, we understand was the gift of Archdeacon Willis, of Cam-* bridge. The dedication service was read
by the Bishop, who preached from Ist Cor., 3 chap., and 1G v., and i«i the evening from Matt. 27 chap., ami 42 v. Should spaco permit, we purpose in our next issue referring at greater length to these services, and some oE the Bishop's remarks. His Lordship strongly expressed the hope that ere long, if not at once tbat two services would be held in the church every Sunday. At the evening service the Bishop stated that it had been suggested that the church should be called St. Marks, which was the name of the resident minister's church in which he laboured faithfully for manyyears in the old countiy. He quite approved of the suggestion, and therefore it would henceforth be known as St. Marks. Both at morning and evening services the building was well tilled, many attending from the surrounding districts.
