Auckland Schooner Reloaded. Port Darwin, August 12th.
The schooner Orpheus, loaded with stores,. &c, from Auckland, landed her cargo y but as there was absolutely no trade, and the prospects were doubtful, the vessel -was reloaded, after remaining over a fortnight. A number of miners are leaving the field. The launch Victoria has arrived from Cambridge Gulf, via Victoria River, and reports that there is no fresh news from the diggings. Charles Winn, an old Territorian, intended returning to the goldfields with stores. He would not make a definite statement beyond that some miners were getting gold. IS'ews from Port Eseington reports that a Cingalese survivor from the lugger Minnie, svhich was wrecked at Cape Wessel in May, 1885, states that the diver, a white man, and two of the crew were not drowned, as was first supposed, but murdered by the natives, who were instigated by Booping, a Malay, al?o a survivor.
Supposed Loss of a Schooner. - Some anxiety is felt for the safety of the schooner Janet. 42 days out from Fremantle for Derby. Some wreckage has been found near Fremantle, and it is thought she has been lost. She had a number of passengers on board.
