WAIHI.
Silrcrton.— A 25-ton parcel of genernl dirt from this mine is now nnder treatmeat afc the Martha battery, and the shove on the plates is sufficiently good to warrant the belief that the return will be somewhat beyoud the average. Before the final cleaning up takes place, a parcel of picked stone amounting 1 to about SOOlbs will be subjected to battery treatment, and the return from this lot should bo a handsome one. Uniou. — Stoping out npon the reef above the intermediate level was started a few days since. The lode here is about three feet thick, and the whole of the &tone is being saved for treatment. Martha Extended. — Sloping operations are now in progress in the different sections of the mine, and fair stone is being obtained > especially from tho stopes going north and south from a point about 20ft down the low level winze. Cleaning op at the battery where 15 head of stampers are continuously employed, will probably take place about the end of the present week.
