COMMERCIAL. THAMES CATTLE' MARKET.
Baxes *nd Co.'s Weekly Report. — At Parawai on Thursday, i n average supply of fat cattle were yaided, but on account of the very full markets for several weeks past, buyers were somewhat slow, though on the whole pi ices weie rather better than last week. Steers averaged £5 18s ; cows, £4 4s, beitig from 17d to 19s per lOOlbs ; sheep weie i.i fair demand, wethers realised from 12s 9d to 14s 9d ; ewes, 7s 6d. A good draft of 60 Waitoa lambs met with a leady sale, at from 7s to *9s. Stoic pigs biought fiom 7s to 11s 3d.
Cambridge, Fiiday. J. S. Bockland reports as follows : — At Cambridge, on Saturday lust, there was an unusally Imge quantity of poultiy, potatoes, oats, cairots, and pigs, brought forward, and all sold at satisfactory pi ices. Fowls, from Is Id to 2» Gd ; ducks, 2s Gd; tuikeys, 3s 6d to 5s ; carrots, 3s 6d per bag- ; potatoes, 8o 6d per bag ; oats, from 2s 2d to 2s 8d per bushel; pigs, fiom 12s to £3. Houses were offered in gi eater than usual numbers, and many sold at f.u"r prices, llacks fiom £G to £11 eaJi ; coach liorsi'S, £9 10s; draughts, £12 to £20 ; and weed.s fiom 20s to £4 10a. At Ohaupo, on Tuesday last, cattle in fair pupply, and almost ail sold at good valua. Dairy cows, £3 10s te £5 15s each ; Murimotu steers being very choice elicited spirited bidding, and sold all with the exception of one pen, at £3 17s 6d, £3 18s 6d, £4, and tao pens at £4 6s. Grown steers for turnip feeding, £5 5s to £5 10s; smaller steers, £3 7^ 6.1 to £4 7s Gd ; yearling steers, at £2 10s to £2 15s ; steer calves, at 31s ; empty cows, £2 10s ; fat cows, from £3 10s to £5, accoiding to quality, and nearly beef cows, £2 15s to £3 10s. At Waitoa, on Thuisday, the yards were again filled with a large number of very choice cattle. Pi ices wcih fresh cow-, £3 4s. Pen of lough steeis, £2 17s 6d. Threo pens of grown steers, nearly beef, £5, &5 2s Gd, and £5 ss. Two pens of i'a< cows, £3 15s and £4 ss. Murimotu steeis, £3 10s, £3 16s, £4 2s 6d, £4 2s 6d, find £4 5s ; steer calves, 29s 6d. Two pens of heifer calves, 15s eich ; nud choice >teeis, eight months old, £2. Two pens of Eat wethsis sold at 12s ; and two pens of ewes in lamb at 6a each. Good useful horsw sold at from £6 10s to £9 10s.
