Nothing fresh to report as to raining here. The new quartz reducing works, under the able supervision of Mr I. Raitey, aro being rapidly erected. About 7 tons of machinery were brought up by the " Kotuku" recently and carted to the site by Mr N. Dickey. j Rumours are prevalent as to the probable early starting of the Woodstock Furnace but nothing reliable has come to your correspondents knowledge. The telephone between the Paeroa and Karangahake Post offces has been ' working all the week. The cliarges are the same as for telegrams. An address of thanks from tho comrades of the late Thos.
