Auckland, May 3. The census returns for the provincial district of Auckland have not yet been made up. There are upwards of 100 census divisions in the district, and so far the returns of only some 40 divisions have been made up. If the increases in the city are as great as in some of the divisional districts, the returns from which have been made up, the total city and suburban population of Auckland will be between 50,000 and 60,000. Napier, April 30. The Wairoa County census shows a population of 1115. There is an increase in Waipawa and Patangata Counties, since 1881, of fifty-four per cent. Oamaru, April 30. The population of Waitaki County is 7672, being an increase of 717 compared with 1881. Blenheim, April 30. The census returns at present in show an increase in Marlborough of 717 since 1881 ; but several important returns are yet to come in. Blenheim has increased from 2107 to 3100 ; Picton has decreased from 834 to 738 ; Havelock has decreased from 345 to 299 ; and Kaikora town has increased from 257 to 392. New Plymouth, April 30. The census returns for Taranaki show as follows : — New Plymouth Electoral District, 3611 : Taranaki Electoral District,' 5682 ; Egmont Electoral District, 7947 ; Provincial District of Taranaki, 17,655, showing an increase in five years of 2797 ; Borough of New Plymouth, 3100 ; Hawera, 1021 ; Patea, 738 ; Town of Waitara, 590 ; Inglewood, 304 ; Stratford, 228 ; on shipboard 16.
