Another Bank Fraud in Adelaide. Arrest of the Chief Teller of the National Bank.

Ernest William Minchin, late manager of the Gawler branch of the National Bank of s Australia, has been arrested on a charge of embezzling £1,000, the moneys of the bank. The accused, who is the son of Mr R. E Minchin, the much -respected director of the Zoological Gardens, has been in the service of the National Bank tor 10 or 11 years, and has held for Borne time the position of manager of the bank's branch at Gawler. When taken in charge he appeared to feel his position acutely. Minchin is a married man. The deficiency was discovered by the accountant when counting Minchin s cash. The money had been abstracted within the last 10 days. When charged with the offence by the bank authorities, Minchin 'admitted having abstracted ' the amount. Godfrey Egremont has been committed for trial ou three separate charges of embezzling the funds of the 'Adelaide Kensington Building Society.
