OHINEMURI. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Paeroa, Thursday.

The contractors for the formation andsupply of metal on the main 'Thames — Tauranga road, between Mackaytown and the Rahu crossing, are making fair headway with the work. Mr. Traynor has almost completed his formation contract, and he has also got the bulk of the metal broken and stacked at stated intervals along the road ready for spreading. Mr. Bain, who has got the next section on contract, is also fairly advanced with his work, and another ten days should see this section of the road made practicable for traffic during the winter season. Two of the parties of contractors for forming the line of road leading from Mackaytown to the Suspension Bridge, at Karangahake, have completed their work, and the third party should be finished early in the ensuing week. There are a few soft places that will require to be corduroyed, after which this route will be thrown open for general traffic, and it will certainly be a great boon to residents at ELarangahake. McCabe and party, contractors for improving the Junction road, are making good progress with the work, which they hope to complete in a few days' time.
