Sad Fatality at Helensville. An Auckland Boy Killed.

Auckland, Apiil 14. A most distressing fatal accident occurred on boaid tho barquo Cabarfeidh, a*" llelcnsville, yesterday, resulting in the death of a promising young approntico named Munn, about 10 years of ago. Captain P. Hughes, master of tho Cobarieidh, furnished the following particulars to hi* Auckland agents, Messrs Stono Bro?, :—: — " This morning Mrs Munn's son and ono of the ordinary seamen viero putting empty water casks on shore to got water, Munn lost his hold and fell between the ship and the wharf, and a water cask fell on top of him. I had him carried into iV r cabin and sent for a doctor. The docti 1 did not think there was anything serious the matter \\ ith him lie left, and came to sco Munn again at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and then taid that Munn was much bettor. The poor boy himself eaid he felfc better. Towards 9 o'clock ho commenced to get worse, the docter came and prescribed tor him again, and at 10 o'clock the boy died." Captain Hughes concluded by expressing deep regrot at the cad occurrence, and stated that he would telegraph to Mrs Munn to-day. Immediately upon receipt of the sad news at Messrs Stono Bros., Captain Norris proceeded to North Shore to _ break tho news to Mrs Munn. Thi3 is the second beroavement that she has sustained, her husband, Captain Munn, having been drowned at Rarotonga about two years ago, whilst master of the schooner Agnes Bell. The deceased was the eldest of four children.
