The concluding events of the day resulted : N.U'ibR Handicap of fiOOsova., second horse to receive 50sovs., and third horse 20sovs, from the stake. 1{ mile. Mr P. Martin's Pearl, 4yrs, Sst 1 Mr J. Marshall's Necklace, 4ys, Sst 91b 2 The Laird, Gyrs, 6st 101b 3 Cinderella, Libeller, Derringer, Rifleman, Victoria, and Bonny Blink also started. When the Hag fell, the colours of Libeller were the most prominent, with Necklace second, and Pearl third, Rifleman being the last to got on his legs. Hounding the bend into tho straight Libeller led, with Derringer on his quarters, then came Victoria, The Laird, and Rifleman, Poarl dioppijg back to last place On reaching the sheds Victoria had the lead, with The Laird second, running alongside, Necklace and Dei ringer together, Libeller, Pearl, and Bonny Blink la&t. At the back of the course Pearl began to move up, and gradually creeping up, by the time the railway bend was reached she had challenged the leaders. Necklace here made a strenuous effoit, and the pair came down the straight together amidst shouts from the onlookers " Pearl win?," and counter shouts "Necklace wins." The shouting was kept up until the po3t was passed, for so close were the two mares from entering the straight until the finish that the result was the greatest uncertainty, and even at tho finish the difference between the two was only a short head. Derringer was fourth, Cinderella fifth, Libeller sixth, Victoria seventh, and Bonny Blink last Time, 3min. 6 1 5sec. Dividends, £4 and £4 3s. Nursery Plate of 160sovs., for two-year-olds. 6 furlongs. Galatea 1 Cremorne . ... . . . . 2 Rivulet ... 3 Fardingale, Kahu, Psyche, and Huata also started. Won easily by half a length. Time, lmin. 20sec. Dividends, £1 4s and £1 13s. Welter Handicap of 150sovs, One mile and a-halt. Cinderella, lOst 51b 1 Trickster, lOst 71b 2 Leonata, 12st 3 Leita and Minerva also started. Won easily. Necklace, Sst 41b 1 Miss Dargon, 7st 41b ... ... 2 Snapshot, 7st 41b . . . ... ... 3 Waitiii, Abraham, Soudan, and Elena also started. Won easily. Time, lmin 16 4-5th sec. A good suirt was cilect"od, Necklace being the first to show out, but was eased back immediately, and Mystery took the lead, which she maintained down past the stand, Cinderella two lengths away next, with The Laird and Victoria a length away. At the back Mystery still led her field, but only on sufferance. Cinderella and Victoria were second, with Necklaco fast coming up on them. At the railway bend, Mystery dropped back, and Victoria led Cinderella slight'y, v ith b'ecklace lying alongside, ana The Laird fourth The quartet all swept into the straight together, when Sutherland gave the favourite her h-sad, and she came away and won comfortably by a length from Victoria, with Cinderella a closo third, Tho Laiid fourth, and Mystery last. Time, 2mins. 44 3 5th sees. Dividends, £1 9s and £1 13s.
