HINEMOA EXPEDITION TO BOUNTY ISLANDS. Wellington, March 20.
Thj, fiinemoa returned to Lyttolton this morning from Bounty and Antipodes Islands. Captain Fairchild reports that he built two hou=es — one on the north coast end of tho Antipodos, and one on the west of Bountv. He landed all the stoves in good order. He found good anchorage, and a good landing at both places, and plenty of beautiful water at the Antipodes. There were the remains of old huts at both places were people had been living, but they must have been sailors from New Zealand as all the old timber about the hut ia JS'ew Zealand wood. Mount Galloway, tho highest part of the Antipodos, is 1,3*20 feet high, and tho highest in the Bounty ia 290 feet. There ia no vegetation of any sort on Bounty — nothing but course granite. The Antipodes has about 2,500 acres of level land all covered with long grass.
