The Ohinemnri Jockey Club's annual race meeting which came off in Logans paddock on St. Patrick's Day, was fairly successful, but the attendance (about 4JO) was not so good as it otherwise would have been owing to the threatening aspect of the weather in the early part of the day, an 1 heavy rain which fell the night previous. Towards noon, however, the weather cleared up, and save occasional light showers the day throughout was fine enough for all purposes. The following are the results of the day's sport :—: — Trial Stakes, oF 7sov 8 , for horses that never won an advertised prize ; weight for age ; one mile, Quinlan's Catchem, 9st 21b (Goldsmith) ... ... ... ### j Douglas's Fanny, Bst 131b (Munro) 2 Penguin. Bst 2lb (Connor) ... 3 Thistledown and Ralcau were also amongst the starters. When the flag dropped Catchem went at once to the [ front, which position he held to the finish, winning two lengths ahead o f Funny, Penguin being close up foi third place. Publicans' Puh.se Handicap, of 15 soys, l£ miles, Brown's Snake, 9st Blb (Goldsmith) 1 Goonau's Barney, Gst isJlb (Code) 2' Bell's Mignonette, Bst (Oonnor) ... 3 Winder's Butcher Boy, Bst 41b also ran. Snake and Barney cut out the running, making the pace hot from the very start, and the former won by a short neck from that game little horse Bainey; Mignonette being a good third, and Butcher Boy last Handicap Huudlis Race, of 2Osovs, 2 miles ; eii«ht flights of hurdles. off with a good lea<l, going at a terrific pace up to ti.e first hurdle, which was negotiated safely by all the horses exepfc Ha'court, who rune to grief. T»e second liur .le was Heared iv lino styl by Tommy and Wheeluon, who still maintained the lead, closely followed by Catchem who baulked, and Recruit striking the hurdle fell rather heavily, throwing his rider clean over Jiis head. Wyatt. however, dung to the* bridle iv a \ery plucky manner, an 1 with tin- assistance of some by^anlers was soon iv the saddle again. Tommy and Wh<'<«ibon both baulked at the third hur lie, and the race now resolved itself into a niati'h between Bric-a-Bruo and Recruit. The last mentioned liorse overhauled and passed his opponents «fter taking the fourth Hiirht of hurdles on tin- last round, nnd liad a clear lead of several lengths, when approaching the last hurdle over which Munro was trying to force CatchVm, and in do ; ng "so ran Uecrnit insi le the )mnll«^. Maori Mm, 1(M 81b .".. ... l Kairuba, Ost o\') ... ... ... 2 NewC.iuni... 3 Six horses started, and of these three fell over the first hurdle, and agr-ind race ensued between the other horses, resulting as above desciibed. Pon* Rack, for ponies 14 hands and under, osovs, IV miles. Dance's Billy ... ... ... 1 Lawless 1 Dot ... ... ... 2 Maori Puny ... ... ... 3 Seven Ponies, mounted by the smallest jocks I have ever seen in one lob started, and Billy who led from the outset, succeeded in winning by a couple of lengths.

Tierney'a Auctioneer, Bst lOIb (Munroj... ... ... ... i Brow i's iSnake, 9st 41b (Goldsmith) 2 Goonan's Barney, (jst 81 b (Coclc) ... 3 Oitc'.i'em, Fanny, and Miynon^Lto also ran. As soon as the flag dropped Snake went to the front, making the pace very warm for (he two first rounds, with Barney lying close up on his quarter. At the back of the course, on the last round, Auctioneer, who was in the ruck, began to improve his position, and a Sjjlem'id race home ensued, resulting in a win by several length for the " Te Amha horse," who proved IrimsHf to be endowed with staying powers of no mean order, Consolation Eace, Handicap, for all beaten horses, 7?ovs, 1 mile ; post entry.— DouyLs's Fanny, Ist. Six otheis ran, but owing to the lateness of the hour (6.45 p m.), it was impossible to determine the exact positions of any of the other horses.
