The Autumn Meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club commenced to-day. The weather is dull but fine. The course is in splendid order, and about 3,000 spectator* were on tho course when the proceedings began. Handicap Hurdle Race of lOOsovs. The second horse to receive lOpovs., the third ssovs from the stakrs. Ore mile and a half, over seven flights of hurdles, 3ft 6in high. Trapper, aged, lOst 71b l May boy, 6yrs, Ssfc 71b 2 Kingask, Gyrs, lOat 71b 3 King Arthur, Marquis, and Medico were scratched. Kingask started favourite at 2 to 1, Borderman being at 5 to 2 ; the rest from 5t020t0 1. The lot were despatched to a fair start, except that Master Agnes was left at the post. Temuka and Garibaldi altornately led for a mile till the latter fell at the last hurdle, interfering with Kingask, Mayboy came with a rush at the last hurdle, winning by three quarters of a length. The winner was protested against for running round the hurdles, and the stakes were awarded to Trapper. Totalisator dividend, £11 9s Gd. Time, 3min, 4saec. The Champagne Stakes of 250sovs. with a sweopßfake of lOsovs eaoh added, for two-year-olds. Colt*., 88t 101b ; fillies, Bst 71b. The eecond horae to receive 20sovs from the stakes Six furlongs. Mr P.
