REWARDS FOR DISCOVERY OF NEW GOLDFELDS.

The amended regulations as to rewards for the discovery of new goldfields are gazetted as follows :— Upon the Council of any county, or where the Counties Act is not in force, upon any Uoad Board adopting the following regulations, the Government shall subsidise by pound for pound the amounts paid by way of reward under the sumo, for the discovery of new gi;l :fi/l Is, three mile* from any working ; — Thore shall be paid) at the expiration of six mouths from the date of discovery, a rewarl of £100 pei' hundred miners up to £500 for five hundred or more minors so c nployed ; for the recovery of a lead in i proximity to the place w.iero a lead .has been lost, and has not been worked for a period of six mouths, a rowaui equal to one-halt of tue a.>ove rates ; and for the discovery of a ne\T lead, one mile from any lust loud; a reward equai to twotiiirds of the above rates.
