FIJI. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Levuka, Sept. 3.

Generally, there has been do occurrence during the month of specially startling character. The mills have been turning out sugar very steadily, and the Union Co.'s new Melbourne boat, the Mawhera, had to leave a large part of her first cargo behind. The cane yield still continues exceptionally good, and gives everyone confidence in the capabilities of the place, if it, only, had a level chance.

Fever. 'i!he epidemio iever still, hangs about JLevuku, and at Suva it is paiticilarly active. Typhoid is also said to have shown itself in Lomaloma- caused, so it is reported, by the filthy state of the native towns. The Rev. W. ' Rose war ne, Wesleyan missionary, fell a viotim to it, and .many, native deaths -are laid to its charge.
