THAMES MINING NEWS. Thames, Friday. , Devon. — A trial crushing of 10 or fifteen loads from the rise on the Sons of Freedom reef will be sent jto battery next week. , * Kurundi Hill. — Thomas, tributer, has crushed 25 tons (chiefly from old stopes) for 58ozs Bd\vts of gold. Moanatairi. — Kneebone, tributer, has banked IBOZ3 of gold.
NEWS FROM FIJI. Auckland, Friday. The Arawata haß arrived from Fiji. She reports the conviction of natives in four cases of incendiarism. Business is terribly dull, although the sugar fields are amazingly rich, amounting to from three to six tons per acre, although the average in other countries is only 25cwt.
SHAREMARKET TO-DAY. There is a, steady demand for Cambrias at 24s ; Devons, 2s 9s to 3s ; Manukaus, 2s lOd to 2s lid j Saxons, Is 3d. The produce market reports butter remains at; last week's quotations ; eggs fallen to lOd wholesale, Is retail.
