Sydney papers to hand to-day, containing the Melbourne Cup weights, show that they were pretty correctly cabled. The only mistake in the weights of the New Zealand horses is that Oudeis has got Sat slb instead ofB3t 31b | In the Hawkesbury Handicap, 1^ mile, I Welcome Jack is allotted top weight, 9st 51b ; Vanguard, Bst 121b ; Oudeis, Bst 61b ; Liverpool, 7st 81b ; Thunderbolt, 7st 41b. ! For the County Puree, 1 mile, Vanguard is second on the list with 9at ; Oudeis has Sst 91b ; and Thunderbolt and Liverpool, 78t 121b each. For the Melbourne Grand National I Steeplechase, Denmark is top weight with 12st Ulb. Clarence has list 111b. A number of racehorses were sold by auction at Christchurch on Saturday. Mr Bates' Patrician, was sold for 50 guineas ; Tbe Painter, for 22£ guineas ; If So, 20 guineas. Mr Lunn's Rally, was sold for 32 guineas. Mr Cotton's racehorses were offered by auction at Dunedin on Saturday. Adamant was sold to Mr Allieon for £50. Little John was passed at £40. Mahomet was bought for £15, and Lunizie (trotter) for £12,
