I London, June 25.— Sir Matthew Kidloy, member for Northumberland, has been offered the position of Chief Secretary for Ireland. The Australian Agents-General has requested the Right Hon. Col, Stanley, new Secretary of State for the Colonies, to grant them an interview on the subject of the Recidivist Bill. Mr Murray Smith is prossing the Salisbury Ministry to at once proceed with the Australian Federal Council Enabling Bill. Tt is proposed that the freedom of the city of Dublin should be conferred on Dr. K. J. O'Dogherty, member of the Queensland Legislative Council, who was on a visit to Ireland, in recognition of his services as a supporter of the Irish couse in the colonies, j London, June 28.— Cargoes of Australian j wheat shipped from April to June are quoted at 36s and 37s per 8001bs ex ship.
