Sydney, June 24. —1t is announced that the Very Rev. Dr. Walshe, Bishop of Kildare, has been appointed Archbishop of Dublin, in succession to the late Cardinal McCabe. c.ydney, June 26. —The officers of the New South Wales Contingent were entertained last evening to a complimentary banquet in their honour, given by the members of the Ministry. Among the guests were His Excellency the Governor (Lord Augustus Loftus), Admiral Tryon, the colonial representatives, and many official personages. A number of speeches were made, among others one by Colonel Haultain. Replying to the toast of "Th« Visitors," he tendered the congratulations of New Zealand in the most felicitous manner.
