BAGGOTT V. WAITOA ROAD BOARD. Thames, Friday.
The case, Bigijott v. \Vaitoa Koad Board, an action to recover £30 damages tor certain diainage works, was heard in the Li.Al. Court to-day. The case was jjtrnck out on legal tiiat the work having been performed under the Public Works Act, any claim for compensation must be decide I in properly constituted Compensation Court. Costs £39 16s were awarded to defendants.
Auckland, Friday Some heavy clearances of su.>ar from bond in tile to day, in anticipation of the [josbiblo increase in duty.
