No alterations of any importance in the market price Hat. Fresh butter worth lOd per lb wholesale, Is retail ; eggs, Is 9d wholesale, 2s retail. Binney and Co. report their weekly sales : — Hides, skins, and tallow : Good demand for heavy hides for shipment existed ; for good parcels, competion keen ; first-class heaviest realised 4s-d to 4-|d per lb ; medium weights, BJd to 3|<l ; light and inferior, 2|d to 3d per lb ; sheepskins, Is 8d to 3s lid each. Bonzoni, formerly of the Public Works Department, will probably be a candidate for the East Coast. The steamship Coptic has arrived from London. Stewart, who was shot in a boardinghouse yesterday, is pronounced out of danger.
