ENTERTAINMENT AT MORRINSVILLE.
On Wednesday If.st a tea party came off in the Mornnsville sdool-house, an«l was specially trot up by kind friends for the school ctiil Iren Tea -wbs placed on the tables at 4.30, and was going on till after six, as the attendance of both children and friend? •was very large, necessitating several relays After the tables had been cleared, ihe meeting took the form of an entertainment over which Mr W. A. Murray kindly presided. The following was the programme for the occasion : — Address by Mr W A. Murray (chairman) ; chorus,, " Come, let us all be merry," by the children (about 35) ; recitation, ■" Never say I can't," John ftowe ; recicitatitm, " Thars not the way at sea," Ciias. Thomas ; violin solo, '' Last rose of sn miner," The Cuainnan ; dialogue, "If I were a Kiug," P. Bolton, May Horrel, and Ethel Rowe ; recitation, " Lord Ullin's daughter," Alice barber; song and chorus, " vV'on't you buy my pretty flowers," Alice Pickett. j recitation, ** The boy and the bird," Fred Ticklepenny ; recitation, " Dare to say no," Eliza Rowe ; recitation, " Grandpapa,". Fred fiowe ; recitation, " The mouse and the cake," Geo. Ticklepenny; part 3o«g, " God speed the right " Glee Party ; recitation, " Not one to spare/ Alice Pickett ; recitation, " John Day," "William Neels ; action song, " The Burlesque Band," The Children. Innes ; recitation, " The iwo blacksmith*," W. Thomas ; part song, gt Rock me to sleep," Glee Party. God Save the Queen. The children sustained their several parts in a really excellent manner, and the greatest credit is due to Mr Green, the teacher, lor the time and trouble he must have taken in preparing them for the occasion. Several of the pieces evoked the heartiest applause, and in some instances, encores were demanded, and had to he responded to. The Chairman gave a very suitable address, which was most attentively lisiriuid to. • Every child present received a prize of some kind, whilst Miss Ethel •Bove and Master W.
