i New Find. — There is nothing frejh !to report respecting this mine. Tenders 1 (closing to-day) have been called for driving the low level some 350 ft, contracts for which v* ill be let in sections of 100 Ft each. Diamond Gully. — In this mine stoping is being carried on as usual, and a crushing is being now got out. It is expected crushing will be commenced in about a fortnight, by which time aboul 70 tons of dirt will probably have been collected. The contractor is making good progress with the winze, which is now down a depth of 45 ft, about 10;t more will complete this work. [nveknebs. — Negotiations are now going on for tht amalgamation of- this company with the Pncenix and all the preliminary arrangements have been ahvady agreed upon. Phoenix. — The hands employed in this mine are sail engaged in sinking a winze to connect tne upper and lower levels The i winze is now down some 20 feet. Gold i has been seen every breaking down | pretty freely. It will take about 80. t of further sinking to connect the levels ; anil when this work is completed, a large block of ground will have been opened up for operating on. This company's ground is within a few chains of the new battery, now in course of erection, and the cost of connecting with sume will be 'very light.
