London, March 12. — A speoial despatch to the Melbourne "Age" cays :— Replying to a question in the House of Commons last night, Mr Gladstone stated that the position of affairs between Groat Britain and Russia remained unchanged. The Czar had repeated his pacific assurance, but there waa reason to believe that the advance of Russian troops still continued. London, March 14. - Sir P. Dillon Bell, the Agent-General for New Zealand, has written a letter to the Melbourne " Argus " with reference to the statements made in Melbourne by Mr J. A. Froude respecting the Australian Agents-General and their fitness to act as Parliamentary representatives of the colonies in Britain. Sir F. D. Bell declares that none of the present Agent3-General ever met Mr Froude.
