The re-surveying of the station site on this side the river was concluded last week, and but a short time ought elapse ere the plans and specifications should he complete, and, let us hope, tenders called for forthwith for the completion of the line. Tbe site will he considerably smaller than as nt. Hrst surveyed, in length now about 30 chains, an i probably cont.uuin^ about 10 acres. Sections 7, *ij and 9, Mock 10. fronting Bridge street, will not now be required, but section 10 vvdl iiuve to be included, and is a corner section. As regards bK<ck i:5, fronting Terminus street on the one side ami the Wuiliou river at the- back, section (>, 7, 8 will four, part of the station grounds, and thesi only. Some of these, have already bee.i taken up by Government in connection with the bridge. There is a reserve on both si les ! the river ba \k of one chain. The line will run in a direct li-ie n"rfch-ea-«t, »:id at present tei.uinate ne.w the Chinaman's garden. At this end of the site all the sections lying between Emma and Brick streets, eight in number, and known as block 59, and all of which have a frontage to Whitaker street, will be interfered with. In laying off the site the probable completion of the line to connect with Tiiames has been kept in sis;hi, and the plans will be drawn accordingly, so as to avoid much alteration becoming necessary later on. The m in entrance to the station be from Lip>ey stieet, but it is probable there will be an entrance from Whitaker street also, at least for foot passengers.
