The oldest of the New Zealand Insurance Companies holds its own in the field of competition, and by good management was today able to present the shareholders with a gratifying statement of accounts. A dividend of three shillings per share, after carrying £25,000 to the reserve fund, proves that colonial enterprise can compete with success in the commercial world. The reputation of our insurance societies has become well established throughout Australasia, and no companies have a greater hold upon public confidence, or more worthily bo. Tne plan of adding largely on every favourable occasion to reserve funds has given these companies a position that is unassailable,
