TEMPERANCE DEMONSTRATION.

Tiik annual temperance demonstration took placo in the Domain yesterday, and representatives of the various lodges assembled at the corner of Vincent aud/Pitt-stroots at 10 a.m., as follows:— Tocm Abntinonco Society, lndopondonfc Order of Rechabitcs, Grand Lodge Executives, Star of Newton, Victoria, Ark of Eden, Jiopoot Manukau, Nil Desporundum (Otahuhn), David Livingstone ; Now Zealand Older— Sir Honry Havelock, Excelsior, Harbinger of Peace, and Bands of Hope, and Blue Kibbon Army. The procession was headed by tho iioldmarshal and four deputies, after whom camo tho Onehunga Brass Band. Tho procession marchod down Hobson - street, Victoria, Albert, Custom -hous-o, Vincont, Queen, Wollesloy, Symonds-stroots, Kybor Pass, Graf ton Road, and Park Koad to the Domain Cricket Ground, where- the procession included between -100 and 500 persons. Speeches were delivered from tho pavilion by Mr T. Peacock, T. B. Hill, and Newman, alter which the sports were proceeded with. The following were tho results : -- Maidln' liwi), 150 yds.
