THAMES-TE AROHA RAILWAY.
Sir George Grey has forwarded to the local bodies a communication received from the Minister of Publio Works containing a promise that Government will issue instructions clnnng the present recess for the construction of a seciton of the Thames-Te Aroha Railway beyond Kopu. It is stated that plans are already prepared for an extension of tin, line to Hikutaia, which will be probably the section first undertaken, but that to Pue'roa will also come within the scope of the prespnt propo? as. There is considerable jubilation over the mutter in local business circles, and the County Council has passed a special resolution expressive of gratitude to Sir George Grey for hiq exertions in bringing about, this nmh tesired result. ~ Auck 'a ul S,ta/.
