The owing CtMnty election is t r« atim* wonderful exci£enl»nt in thi,- disrr'et. As one well-knowil gentleman observed a day or two ago, k You can't tread on a dbg's tail, but he'll bark ; ' who are yoit going to vote for.' " The hotels, stores, offices, land sea*3 of ccstom are adorneil by excited groups oF tliree>. and fours shaking heads, fingers, and tonga&i in unison, if not in harmony. A I though candidates are as plentiful as mosquitos, yet choice among theai is certainly limited. Among the legion standing, scarcely three are " fit and proper." Public opinion, however, is iv favour of Messrs Moore an! McGombie for the out-districts, and Mr J. M. Kobson for the township ; the chances of the former ami latter gentlemen being corsidered as decidedly the beat, their interests beiny undoubtedly bound up with those of the community.
